Description
Ferric Alum, also called Ferric Aluminum Sulfate (often hydrated, e.g. dodecahydrate), is a versatile industrial chemical used for purification, coagulation, and dye-fixing processes. In its solid/crystal or powder forms, it offers flexible options depending on application needs — solids/slabs are easy to store and dissolve, powders provide faster solubility and greater surface contact.
In water treatment and wastewater / effluent treatment plants, Ferric Alum acts as a primary coagulant/flocculant, helping to clarify water, remove turbidity, suspended solids, and colloidal impurities. It also aids in removing color, odor, and heavy metals from industrial discharge.
In paper & pulp industries, it supports sizing (helping paper resist water), retention of fillers and pigments, controlling drainage rate in paper machines, and improving the mechanical strength and uniformity of paper sheets.
For textile dyeing & printing, Ferric Alum is used as a mordant, which helps the dyed color bind to fibers more effectively, improving color fastness, brightness, and wash-light durability.
Other industrial uses include leather tanning, metal finishing for certain decorative/fire-resistant coatings, and in some cases cosmetics or pharmaceutically (in diluted or highly purified forms) as a mild astringent or antiseptic
Our supply is standard 50 kg packing, with options for solid slabs/crystals/lumps or powder form depending on customer requirement. This ensures ease of handling, transport, storage, and usage on industrial scale.
